Education has always played a very important part in the community. Victorias public school system includes 16 pre-schools, 14 elementary schools, 3 junior highs and two high schools.
Victoria Independent School District (VISD) The Strategic Plan for VISD is based on the fundamental conviction that everyone can learn and that ever child has the right to a quality education. One of the most highly successful programs in VISD is the magnet school program. Four elementary schools in racially isolated neighborhoods have become show-places of progressive learning. With the help of a Magnet Schools Assistance Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, VISD is able to expand and enhance the existing program with additional technology and learning materials.

Victorias Private Schools
Victoria is very proud of its private schools. With 11 elementary schools, 2 junior highs and two high schools, students are taught in specially designed and personalized curriculum. St. Joseph High School has served the region for many years and is considered a leading prep school preparing graduating students for the rigors of college life.

The Victoria College
Founded in 1925 as a part of the Victoria School System, the Victoria College provides high-quality educational programs and services which fulfill the needs of the individual and the community.

University of Houston - Victoria
The University of Houston - Victoria, founded in 1973, is on of four institutions in the University of Houston System. It was established to provide Crossroads residents with the opportunity to earn bachelors degrees, masters degrees, professional certification and continuing education experience. UH-Victoria is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
